Important Trail Notice regarding the Downeast Sunrise Trail: Beginning November 1st in Ayers Junction, the Downeast Sunrise Trail will be closed in sections for needed maintenance. Phase one will consist of power grading the sides of the trail to pull fine materials back onto the surface this fall. The reclaimed material will also pull in vegetation that will have to be Harley raked and left over the winter to decompose creating difficult travelling conditions for non-motorized recreational users until the trail is graded and compacted again in the spring (Phase Two). Once each section has been reclaimed, the trail will be reopened for use. Sections undergoing maintenance will be marked with large, red signs. Please obey all posted closures and be safe.
