Award Description: The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) - The State of Maine is developing a new Management Information System for use at the WIC offices. Funding will be used to pursue quality assurance activities, purchase computer equipment, and pay implementation costs.

Quarterly Activities Description: A Financial Auditor was provided by the Office of Technology to conduct an audit of the User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The Clinic Module has been approved and ready for Pilot Testing. The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program was granted a Deployment Certification by the Office of Technology to conduct the Pilot testing. The Business Analyst continued to develop the Conversion Plan, Test Plan, Training Plan, and training materials. The WIC Director traveled to Washington D.C. for the Successful Partners in Reaching Innovative Technology (SPIRIT) User Group Executives Steering Committee and meetings for strategic planning. A new test environment was created for the UAT process (Version 2.14.06). The UAT began on January 6, 2012 and was completed by March 16, 2012. The technical staff completed the data conversion and configuration issues reported by the Test Team. All critical issues in the tracking system were resolved for UAT and SPIRIT is ready for HealthReach Network training and Pilot testing. They completed the development of the conversion spreadsheet to automate and refresh the databases. The Test team provided support to the technical staff in testing the conversion and configuration of the SPIRIT management information system. They conducted the UAT for the SPIRIT reports and completed the development of test cases for the UAT process. The Project Manager has maintained the Project Plan and Budget for implementation and deployment of SPIRIT. The Project Manager and the WIC Program staff reviewed and corrected the implementation schedule as per the eight Local Agencies. The SPIRIT Training was presented to HealthReach Network for Pilot testing.
